Developmentally attuned language treatment for nonfluent primary progressive aphasia and Broca’s aphasia
What is it?
This study aims to design more effective treatment for speaking after Stroke.
What involvement is required?
The study will take a total of 18 weeks, with treatment occurring for 10 weeks. The schedule is as follows:
- Weeks 1 – 2 Assessment: 3 to 5 times for 45 minutes
- Weeks 3 – 7 Treatment: 45 minutes, 2 times a week for 5 weeks
- Weeks 8 – 9 Take a break
- Weeks 10 – 14 Treatment: 45 minutes, 2 times a week for 5 weeks
- Weeks 15 – 17 Take a break
- Week 18 Assessment: 45 minutes
Eligibility requirements:
- Difficulty speaking in sentences because of Broca’s Aphasia after Stroke or Nonfluent Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA)
- Native English speaker
- 18 years of age or older
