South Illawarra (Dharawal country)

Meeting day: 2nd Tuesday of the month

Meeting time: 10.30am - 12.30pm

How to contact: 1300 650 594 or info@strokensw.org.au

The South Illawarra Stroke Recovery Club has been operating since 2008.

The Group is a support/social group for people who have had a Stroke, their family and carers. Current members of this group reside in the Southern Illawarra region from Mt Keira to Kiama.

The group meets at Albion Park Bowling Club on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and organises a social outing for the 4th Tuesday in the month, with approximately 30 attendees at each catch up.

This group gives people the opportunity to meet with others, share their experiences and discuss the unfamiliar life of post-Stroke recovery. The aim of the group is to find ways to support each other, gather and supply information on available community services and to arrange outings together.

The meetings are normally a very informal gathering, where members can discuss outings, listen to guest speakers, but always have morning tea and a chat. Many members stay on for lunch at the Club.

Previous outings have included BBQs, Ten Pin Bowling, Lawn Bowls, trips to Museums/Art Gallery, Wineries, Orchards, ANSTO, local dams and other places of interest.

For more information about the South Illawarra Stroke Recovery Club, contact the Association on 1300 650 594 or email info@strokensw.org.au.

The South Illawarra Stroke Recovery Club would like to acknowledge the Dharawal people who are the traditional custodians of the land that they meet on. We pay our respect to Elders both past, present and emerging.
